Day 01

Cusco – Piscacucho km 82 – Ayapata

Start early from Cusco, driving through the Sacred Valley to reach the trailhead at Km 82. After checking in at the Inca trail checkpoint, begin the trek with a 2.5-hour hike on relatively flat terrain to Wilkaraqay, with views of Llactapata ruins. Continue hiking for two hours to Hatunchaca for lunch, then proceed to the campsite at Ayapata, where you will spend the night. (Lunch, Dinner)

Day 02

Ayapata – Dead Woman’s Pass – Pacaymayu – Chaquicocha

Begin the challenging ascent to Dead Woman's Pass (4,215 m/13,825 ft), the highest point of the trail, followed by a descent to Pacaymayu for lunch. Continue climbing to Runcuraccay and its ruins, then pass through Sayacmarca before reaching the Chaquicocha campsite. (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)

Day 03

Day 04

Wiñay Wayna – Machupicchu – Cusco

Start early to trek to Inti Punku, the Sun Gate, for your first view of Machu Picchu. After a 45-minute descent to the site, enjoy a 2-hour guided tour of the ancient city. Afterwards, take a bus to Aguas Calientes and a train to Ollantaytambo, where a private transfer will return you to your hotel in Cusco. (Breakfast)
